GDS event - promoting the role of APIs in government 17-May-18
The Government Digital Service (GDS) and iStandUK are running an event to showcase how application programmable interfaces (APIs) can be used across Government and Local Government as a part of a digital transformation to share data and services. The event will be at HMRC’s offices in Shipley on the 17th May 2018 and is free for public sector and suppliers. You can find out more, and register for the event at EventBrite.
At the event, you will see practical examples from departments including LGA, NHS-Digital, HMRC, MHCLG, and DVLA, of the APIs that they have developed for use directly by the public, and to share data with Local Authorities.
The event will highlight how GDS standards are guiding the design of API developments to bring consistency and re-use for themes such as authentication, security, documentation, service levels, geographical and statistical areas and so on.
APIs are set to become the means by which information is shared securely and legally, as we provide services to local people and places. This is an opportunity to hear and influence how they are being developed and to be API ready.
